The Vice-President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has recently initiated a significant project aimed at fostering job creation and entrepreneurship among the youth. The Business in a Box (BizBox) initiative, backed by an impressive GH¢660 million (around $55 million), is designed to catalyze the potential of 250,000 young individuals by equipping them with the necessary tools and expertise to establish and grow their own businesses over the next four years.

The BizBox project, a collaborative endeavor between the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Mastercard Foundation, is projected to continue until April 2027. Participants will benefit from a comprehensive program that includes life skills training, technical and entrepreneurial education, and business development strategies to enhance their capacity for growth and scalability. Additionally, the project will provide mentorship, market access, regulatory guidance, and start-up kits tailored to various industries such as agriculture, tourism, and construction.
