Former Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes the Black Stars are headed in the wrong direction under coach Otto Addo, following a poor start to the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. The team has managed just one point from their first two games, leaving their qualification hopes in jeopardy.

The Black Stars opened their campaign with a 1-0 loss to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium and followed it up with a 1-1 draw against Niger. Currently third in Group F, Ghana’s position is precarious, with only the top two teams advancing to the tournament.
Agyemang-Badu expressed his concerns in an interview, highlighting the team’s struggles despite having talented players. “Even after taking the lead, Niger dominated with 16 shots, while we had only six,” he said. He added that the current situation is far from Ghana’s former glory, as they now struggle to qualify from the group stage.
Ghana will look to turn things around in October with a critical doubleheader against Sudan, led by Kwesi Appiah.
