Ghana Black Stars unveil 55-Man Provisional Squad for AFCON Tournament

Chris Haughton has revealed his preliminary squad of 55 players for the upcoming AFCON tournament. The Ghana Black Stars’ head coach released the roster, featuring the return of Baba Rahaman and Bernard Tekpetey, along with 11 local talents.

As per CAF regulations, all 24 participating nations must submit their final 23-man squad by January 3, 2024. The Black Stars will initiate their training camp next week in preparation for the tournament, with the final squad announcement pending.

With their eyes set on securing their first title in more than 40 years, Ghana seeks to replicate their 1982 victory. The tournament is slated to commence on January 13, with Ghana placed in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
