In 2008, Boakye and friends founded Box Office Promotions in James Town to address the lack of organized bouts. They aimed to produce local champions, such as Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe, an IBO champion. Boakye emphasized that boxing is costly and often unprofitable without sponsorship, but it generates employment across various sectors.
He called for more support from corporate Ghana and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, particularly for amateur boxing. Boakye also highlighted his contributions to local boxing events, like the annual Homowo Boxing Championship, and expressed gratitude to sponsors like Base Pharmacy.
Looking ahead, he announced the next Greater Accra Amateur Boxing competition on August 17, 2024, and hinted at running for a leadership position in the sport. Boakye praised Omashi TV for promoting boxing and expressed optimism for the future of Ghanaian boxing, emphasizing the need for positive direction and commitment.
