The man who threatened to harm some public officials has been remanded into police custody for two weeks.
Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Kanawu, was arraigned to the court in Accra yesterday by the Ghana Police Service after he was arrested on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

The accused was declared wanted by the Ghana Police Service on Monday, September 9, 2024, after a video of him issuing threats to a number of public officials, including the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensah, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Akuffo Dampare and many others went viral on social media.

He threatened to harm and shoot these public officials for fraudulently recruiting people to join the police force in order to sway the results of the December 7 elections.
A bounty of GHS50,000 was placed on him and he was nabbed two days later.
A statement of his remand by police, said he is to re-appear before the court in Accra on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

“Police investigation into the case continues,” the statement concluded.
