In a letter dated September 12, 2024, the Ministry instructed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to request CAF inspections of both venues ahead of next month’s game against Sudan. CAF’s withdrawal was due to technical infractions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, including issues with the playing field. The stadium has since been closed, and the National Sports Authority has been tasked with addressing CAF’s concerns.

The Ministry noted that previous issues with the Accra Sports Stadium have been resolved, making it available to host matches. Although the University of Ghana Stadium has hosted CAF Category B matches, it is yet to undergo an official CAF inspection since its inauguration.
