WBO Africa champion Faisal Abubakar and Olympic medalist Samuel Takyi are set to electrify the Bukom Boxing Arena during Week 4 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League.
Faisal will defend his WBO Africa Super Lightweight title against Nigerian contender Samuel Opaogum, while Takyi, who won gold at the African Games and an Olympic medal at Tokyo 2020, returns to the ring on August 31, 2024, aiming for his fifth professional victory.

“I’m back and ready to show the world I never left,” Takyi, known as the Ring Warrior, declared, inviting fans to witness his comeback. Faisal, dubbed the Shata Wale of Ghana Boxing, also urged his supporters to turn out in force for his title defense.
Matchmaker Dan Donkor promised an exciting night as James Town Boxing Gym faces off against Attoh Quarshie. The League, gaining momentum each week, airs live on Max TV and is sponsored by Bel 7 Star. The top gym and boxer will receive a Renault car from Premium Motors Limited, with additional support from The Trust Emporium, Tecno, and Max Buy.
