Three persons have been confirmed dead after a two-storey building collapsed last Saturday at Kasoa, Timber Market just outside Accra.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed this, and added that the three dead were a carpenter and two female students, aged 16 and 18, from an unnamed vocational institute.

Four more people were pulled from the wreckage by a combined crew from the GNFS Headquarters and the Kasoa Fire Service Station.
Several other were also confirmed injured and rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Speaking to TV3 Ghana, Assistant Divisional Officer of the GNFS Public Affairs Unit, Alex King Nartey, confirmed that the collapsed structure was a two-storey building under construction.
Touching on what might have caused the building to collapse, the GNFS says it suspects that the building might have lost its structural integrity as there were visible defects on the building.
However, investigations are ongoing to find the actual cause of the collapse, according to the GNFS.
“From what our men on the ground have gathered, there were significant structural deficits in the construction of this building,” Nartey said.
