Super clash shifts to Kumasi: Hearts of Oak vs Asante Kotoko face off at Baba Yara Stadium

The highly anticipated clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, known as the Super Clash, will not be held at the Accra Sports Stadium as initially planned. Instead, it’s been moved to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi due to the former’s booking for December’s festive events.

Hearts of Oak decided against using their alternate venue, the Cape Coast Stadium, opting for Kumasi instead. Elvis Herman Hesse, the club’s supporters’ chief, sees this move as advantageous, especially financially, given the proximity to other northern-based league teams and the substantial following the club enjoys in Kumasi.

Despite recent setbacks, such as their elimination from the MTN FA Cup by Nania FC and an eight-point gap from the league leaders in the Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak aims for a positive outcome against their rivals. Drawing from past successes in Kumasi, notably winning the CAF Confederation Cup in 2005, they are geared up for a similar performance this weekend.
