Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Director of the NDC, has passionately advocated for former President John Mahama’s innovative policy of a 24-hour economy, which he believes will significantly boost job creation in Ghana. He has strongly criticized the ruling NPP for allegedly propagating “fake news” in an attempt to undermine the credibility of Mahama’s proposed policy. Gyamfi asserts that implementing a round-the-clock operational model for businesses and public institutions, segmented into three eight-hour shifts, will not only increase productivity but also enhance Ghana’s economic landscape and create numerous well-paying jobs.

Gyamfi has expressed confidence in the staying power of the 24-hour economy concept, dismissing the NPP’s criticism as baseless fearmongering from a government facing its own challenges. He contends that the NPP’s smear campaign against the policy is a sign of their desperation and lack of innovative job creation strategies as the 2024 elections approach. The NDC spokesperson is encouraging the public to remain vigilant against what he calls the NPP’s “fake news” regarding Mahama’s policy, emphasizing that the opposition’s policy is gaining popularity and endorsement, notably from the Trades Union Congress (TUC), as a transformative economic measure.
