A guy got nabbed in New Juaben South for trying to register twice in the voter registration exercise. He had already registered in September 2023 but tried to do it again on May 8, 2024. The system caught him, and the police swiftly arrested him. He admitted he lost his voter ID card and was trying to get a replacement. The dude is currently in police custody, cooperating with the investigation.
Kofi Asante Owusu, the Electoral Commission’s bigwig in New Juaben South, warned everyone against attempting double registration or registering underage individuals. The biometric system is sharp and will catch any funny business. If you lose your voter ID card, don’t panic! The EC will sort you out with a replacement.
