Student nabbed stealing phones, laptop on Accra College of Education campus

A third-year student of Accra College of Education was caught by fellow students for allegedly stealing a laptop and several other phones on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Reports state that the suspect stole a laptop by breaking into a student’s room while other students were in the school auditorium for a program.

But one student who had already entered the room moved quickly, which resulted in the suspect’s apprehension.

Surprisingly, during the inspection of the suspect’s bag, several pen drives, sim cards and roughly eight phones were discovered in addition to the laptop.

In a video posted by EDHUB on social media (https://x.com/eddie_wrt/status/1822549121128882437) the suspect is seen surrounded by a group of people with one person retrieving the stolen items from a blue bag.

The suspect’s left eye appeared swollen as he sits on the ground.

He was later handed over to the police for further investigation.

This incident adds to the growing number of theft cases on campus, with eight laptops already having been stolen from the school’s ICT lab.
