The Concerned Citizens of the Komenda Traditional Area have rescheduled the planned protest against the Komenda Sugar Factory’s leasing to an Indian company to Accra.
The protest was initially set to happen in Komenda on Tuesday, Auust 13, 2024 but has now been moved to the capital on a yet to be decided date.
The reason for the relocation of the protest, according to the organizers, is to ensure that it receives the needed attention at the highest level of government since the seat of government is in the capital.

The group also stated that they are obliged to express their concerns and dissatisfaction regarding the way government has handled investment agreements and consultation with local stakeholders.
