In a now viral video, after being arrested, a young man going by the name of Ametor Doe Emmanuel accused some police officers—possibly from the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) in Accra or the Visibility Unit—of extortion and stealing money from his mobile money account.
Emmanuel claimed that he was taken into custody by the police in the vicinity of Jubilee House, on Kanda, and that they took him in handcuffs to a remote area.
They took the money, made him give his MOMO password under duress, and ran away.
He later reported the incident to the Cantonments police station, but he said, the station officers did not do much to follow up on the case.

This, Emmanuel together with some Ghanaians called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to intervene and bring the officers to book.
The Ghana Police Service has since responded to the calls with the interdiction of the two, and has assured the public that they will be put through the due process of the law.
