Parliamentary proceedings will be held in a different location in Accra as renovation works in the main chamber of Parliament House are still ongoing.
Member of Parliament will relocate to the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) dome for the recall of the house next week Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
This is in accordance with the 1992 Constitution’s Article 112(3).

At a cost of €2.26 million, the House’s main chamber is being renovated to improve the conference system and electronic equipment.
All of the chairs and equipment in the chamber have been removed to make room for an upgrade to the conference system.Cameras will be installed as part of the new features, and a cable will be run from the control room into the video production system so that journalists may access their feeds.
Additionally, the outdated cables which have been in use since 2014 are being replaced in the process.
To implement a biometric feature that will enable MPs to electronically register their presence, all of the underlying cables are being replaced.
The new system would allow electronic voting utilising the biometric technology, and it is rumoured to be the first in the subregion.

The majority caucus in parliament recently called for a recall of the House, and the Speaker is required by the Constitution to grant their request.
