Stabbed O’Reilly SHS Student Case: Update from today’s court proceedings

Here's why the O'Reilly SHS stabbing case was adjourned.

Family of the O’Reilly Senior High School (SHS) student who was reportedly stabbed to death by a colleague over an argument on whose father was richer were at the La District Court today to witness the trial of the suspect.

The prime suspect, Godwin has been remanded into police custody for two weeks by the La District Court at the end of today’s proceedings.

The judge adjourned the case to Thursday, September 19, 2024, to allow the police investigate well into the arguments that led to Edward Borketey Sackey’s death.

The judge also offered condolences to the bereaved family her and sympathized with them for their loss.

Meanwhile, police documents claim the victim was stabbed only once contrary to early media reports and claims by the father of the victim.

Additionally, court documents indicate that the accused is 18 years old and not 23 years old as earlier reported.

The victim’s family has raised some concerns about this inconsistency.
