Ghana’s Daniel Gorsh, also known as King Selassie, is the new WBO Africa Bantamweight Champion after defeating Benin’s Ghislain Vodounheesi by unanimous decision at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The fight, originally scheduled for Treehouse Restaurant, drew a unique crowd that enjoyed Gorsh’s flawless performance, extending his undefeated record to 13 bouts. Vodounheesi, a seasoned fighter with 25 wins, 16 against Ghanaians, struggled but fought fiercely despite multiple warnings for low blows from referee Roger Barnor.
Gorsh, guided by Coach Carl Lokko of the Bronx Gym, thanked God and expressed his ambition to become a world champion, aiming for a place in the Boxing Hall of Fame. With this victory, he now holds the UBO African belt and is ranked 15th in the world by the WBO.
