Achimota Golf Club has honored MTN Board Chairman, Ishmael Yamson, with the prestigious Emeritus Award during the 2024 MTN Maiden Golf Tournament. Mr. Yamson, who has been a dedicated member for over 40 years, was recognized for his significant contributions to the club, including his role in establishing the “Half House” facility.

Presenting the award, Club President Frank Adu announced that Mr. Yamson is now permanently exempt from paying any membership fees. “He can play at any time without charge,” Mr. Adu said.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Yamson expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and urged members to continue supporting the club. The tournament also celebrated remarkable performances, with Frederick Semenu Devour winning the men’s competition and Vastie Amoafo Yeboah securing the women’s title.
The event not only showcased top talent but also strengthened the bond between MTN and the Achimota Golf Club, marking the start of a promising partnership.
