According to reports, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made headway in hiring a new technical coach to bolster the backroom team of Black Stars coach Otto Addo.
The GFA is reportedly negotiating an agreement with a German coach, according to reports from Pure FM in Kumasi.
According to a report by prominent sports journalist Bright Kankam Boadu, the GFA is prepared to pay the coach $60,000.
However, that still falls $20,000 shy of the $80,000 pay the German coach is requesting.
The GFA is eager to hire a technical coach to help coach Otto Addo qualify Ghana for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Negotiations are still in progress.
The Black Stars are in danger of missing the competition for the first time since 2004 after losing all four of their AFCON 2025 qualifying matches.
Ghanaians are becoming irritated with the team, and some are demanding that the coach be fired.
Otto Addo won’t be replaced by the German coach, but if Ghana fail to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, rumors indicate the 49-year-old may be fired.
