A labourer named Richard Bajian has been remanded into police custody by an Adentan Circuit Court. He’s accused of breaking into two separate offices in East Legon, Accra. The offices in question are CAMFED Ghana and Millenium Promise Alliance.
Bajian is alleged to have stolen four laptops, a Samsung mobile phone, and four laptop chargers from CAMFED Ghana. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at GHC25,300. In addition to the theft, he’s also accused of causing damage to a glass door at the Millenium Promise Alliance office, valued at GHC1,450.

Bajian, 23, is facing two counts each of unlawful entry, causing unlawful damage, and stealing. Despite the charges, he pleaded not guilty. However, the court declined his bail request.
The court’s decision was influenced by a previous conviction. The prosecution presented records from a Madina District Court, indicating that Bajian had previously been convicted and sentenced to seven months imprisonment on a similar charge. The court, presided over by Sedinam Awo Balokah, ordered the prosecution to provide the defence counsel with these records and other relevant documents.
The case has been adjourned until November 20, 2023. The prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo, stated that the first complainant is Barbara Wudah, an administrator at Millenium Promise Alliance, and the second complainant is Nathaniel Acckon, an IT officer at CAMFED Ghana. Bajian, who resides at Ayigbe Town, Shiashie, is said to have scaled the wall of the Millenium Promise Alliance office on October 28, 2023, with the intent to steal.
