The Accra Indie Filmfest saw individual film creators and producers from all over the world come together to screen their films at the week-long festival in Accra.
Seminars, workshops and a musical concert featured in the captivating event which graced both the British Council and Alliance Français, the two venues for the festival.
From a spectacular opening, fun sessions and educative screening experiences, the sixth edition of the festival was one for the history books.
The curtains were drawn down with a magnificent closing ceremony and awards show at the British Council on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Here’s the full list of awards winners on the night:
Best Actor Award – Kobina Sam1 in “Nyame Mma” directed by Joe Wackle (Ghana).
Best Actress Award – Una Ni Bhriain in “Tethered” (Ireland).
Best Animation Film – “From The Top” by Rich Farris (United Kingdom).
The Best Documentary Film – “Enchukunoto (The Return)” directed by Nomad Mumke (Kenya).
Best Juvenile Performance Award – Ellish Obbsiv in “Superman Doesn’t Steal” directed by BaobabT.
Best Narrative Film – “Allies” directed by Salif Descisse (France).
Best Production Design – Kevin O’Brien for “Katele” directed by John Harvey and (Australia).
Best Student Film goes to “Rule of Thumb” by Riddle Dela (Ghana).
Best Screenplay goes to “Allies” directed by Salif Descisse (France).
Best Director – Young Cassette (Malta).
Best Music Film Award – “Cats. Why Do We Love Them” directed by Akomra (Russia).
