Tragedy struck at Asiakwa Junction on Monday when a fuel tanker traveling from Accra to Kumasi experienced brake failure and collided with a taxi, resulting in two fatalities, including the taxi driver.
The tanker veered onto the lane for Accra-bound vehicles, trapping the taxi underneath. The spilled fuel ignited, incinerating both vehicles.
Miraculously, two taxi passengers escaped before the flames engulfed the car.
A truck approaching the Pacific fuel station also collided with the burning tanker, leading to severe injuries for the driver and the death of his mate upon arrival at the hospital.
