Accra, the capital of Ghana, has been ranked as the 10th best city for nightlife in the world by Time Out’s newest survey of thousands of people globally.
Ghana’s seaside capital, according to Time Out, scored well overall, scoring 36 percent for affordability and 66 percent for quality of nightlife.
Locals characterised Accra’s nightlife as “beautiful,” “peaceful,” and “safe,” citing their favourite places to have fun as the bar-filled Osu neighbourhood and Labadi Beach, which is well-known for its all-night beach parties.

Accra is home to a vibrant nightlife scene that has gained global recognition with world-acclaimed stars, events and concerts trooping in the country especially during the festive season in December and early January.
Over the past decade, Accra has been known for the “Detty December” craze and the center for enjoyment.
Powered by the “Year of Return” and “Beyond the Return” initiatives, the city boasts of hosting several thousands to millions of people every year during the festive season.
Accra’s nightlife is fuelled by a thriving music culture that includes Afrobeat, Hiplife, and Highlife.
Numerous locations throughout the city provide live performances by local and international musicians.
