The people of Accra New Town will get the chance to honour their first ever president Dr Kwame Nkrumah in a special event to be held at Accra New Town.
It is believed that Nkrumah’s first house was located at part of the capital and locals will get the chance to pay their respect to him later in the week as Ghana celebrates 70 years of Independence.
Thousands of people are expected to turn out for the event including the president with the area given the opportunity to kick start a series of events for the independence day celebration.
