Samuel Kwesi Addison, a 51-year-old mason, found himself in the Accra Circuit Court, facing accusations of selling the same land at Abbeyman, Accra to two different buyers for GHC70,000 and GHC100,000. Despite the serious charges against him, Addison maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to fraudulent transaction of land.
In a twist, the court also seeks businesswoman Evelyn Elorm Ahedor, who is facing a charge of trespassing. She allegedly entered the disputed land unlawfully, adding another layer of complexity to the case. The court, presided over by Evelyn Asamoah, granted Addison bail set at GHC200,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be public servants.
The case, set to continue on November 22, 2023, has drawn attention to the issue of land sales transparency. As the prosecution builds its case, the court awaits the arrival of Ahedor and the unraveling of this intricate land dispute.
