Achimota Senior High School (SHS) has won the Southern zone of the National Cybersecurity Challenge (NCC) 2024 after defeating St John’s Senior High School and Wesley Girls’ Senior High School.
Achimota School was awarded an amount of GHS2,000 with two plaques as champions, second placed St John’s SHS received an amount of GHS1,500 with a plaque, and Wesley Girls, who came third, took home an amount of GHS1,000 with a plaque.

Achimota SHS were crowned champions after accumulating 45 points in three rounds, whiles second placed St John’s SHS and third placed Wesley Girls’ had 38 points and 31 points respectively.
Achimota SHS will now compete at the national championship contest against winners of the Northern zone Nalerigu SHS, Serwaa Kesse SHS, Middle zone champions and Eastern zone winners St Peter’s SHS in October.
The National Cybersecurity Challenge 2024 under the theme “Empowering young minds: Creating opportunities and promoting a safer Digital Ghana,” was organised by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation to raise digital awareness among children.

The competition seeks to promote cyber safety and provide hands-on experiences in identifying, preventing and mitigating digital threats.
