Ghana’s national U-20 team, the Black Satellites, have been drawn into a challenging group ahead of the WAFU B U-20 Championship. In Group A, they will face host nation Togo, Niger, and Benin following the official draw held in Côte d’Ivoire.

The tournament kicks off with Ghana playing Togo, followed by matches against Niger and Benin. Coach Desmond Offei’s squad is aiming for a top-two finish to secure qualification for the Africa U-20 Championship, a tournament Ghana last won in 2021.
The Black Satellites have been intensively preparing for the competition, fresh off their victory in the 2023 All African Games. Their preparations included a mini European tour and friendly matches against Legon Cities and SMAC.
Group B features Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast. The WAFU Zone B tournament runs from October 17 to October 31, 2024.
