Buzstopboys, a nongovernmental organization (NGO) has taken up the challenge of cleaning Accra of filth for the past one year.

The group has done incredibly well by singlehandedly transforming major bus terminals, drainage, streets and market centers in the capital.

Buzstopboys have cleaned a total of 253 places in Accra within 12 months.

Founded on July 5 2023, the group seeks to promote Clean, Green Environment (CGEn) through patriotism, voluntarism and selflessness.

Led and founded by Heneba Kwadwo Safo, the group first started 7 volunteers and now boasts of 170 volunteers.

A team, Heneba Kwadwo Safo described to Myaccraonline as a spirited group of intellectuals from graduates to soldiers, teachers, midwives, police officers, immigration officers, professional painters and caterers, plus many other more.

During the Homowo Clean Campaign held early this month, the Mayor of Accra, Elizabeth Sackey commendd the Buzstopboys for their efforts in cleaning the capital.

The dedication and hard work of the Buzstopboys are truly commendable. They have set a high standard for community involvement and have shown us that with collective effort, we can achieve a cleaner and healthier city. I encourage all young people to volunteer in similar initiatives to help maintain the cleanliness of our beloved Accra,” she said.

The group has currently extended their activities to the garden city of Kumasi where they have two branches in Abirim and Kumasi.
