Charles Bissue’s review application against OSP postponed by court

0

In a recent session at the Human Rights Court, Charles Bissue’s judicial review application against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) faced an adjournment until January 15, 2024. Bissue seeks to nullify an arrest warrant issued by the OSP on June 7, 2023, alleging deceit in its procurement.

The court had initially granted Bissue an interim injunction on June 15, 2023, preventing the OSP from enforcing the purported arrest warrant for 10 days. However, the OSP countered with an affidavit disputing the warrant’s existence, accusing Bissue of misleading the court. The judge, expressing displeasure, struck out paragraphs 21-23 of the OSP’s affidavit, deeming them scandalous depositions against the court.

during the December 6, 2023 hearing. The OSP defended these paragraphs as a factual representation that the alleged arrest warrant does not exist and that Bissue misled the court into believing in a non-existent document.
