David Oduro, an 18-year-old Ghanaian defender, is determined to make his mark at FC Barcelona. The young left-back, who recently secured a three-year contract with the Spanish giants from Accra Lions, made history as the first player signed directly from Ghana to Barcelona.

Oduro, who previously trialled with Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen, is focused on working hard to break into Barcelona’s first team. “This is the time for me to work hard, not to relax. I have to push myself to play in the first team,” he said in an interview with Sporty TV. His ambitions include playing in the Champions League and representing the Ghana national team.
He also shared his admiration for Barcelona’s style of play, which influenced his decision to join. “I love their style, and I’m excited about the project. I can’t wait to get started.”
Oduro will begin his journey with Barcelona B, with high hopes for the future.
