Hon. Owusu Tufuor, Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg in charge of Sports Development, warmly welcomed Ghanaian athletes and officials as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The reception, held at the Center of Resource, Expertise, and Sports Performance (CREPS), emphasized Strasbourg’s dedication to international sports and cultural exchange.
Hon. Tufuor, former president of the Ghanaian Friendship Association of Strasbourg, expressed his excitement and admiration for the athletes’ hard work and determination. “We are honored to welcome the talented athletes and dedicated officials of Team Ghana to Strasbourg. Your presence here enriches our city and exemplifies the spirit of international unity and sportsmanship,” he said.

For the past two years, Hon. Tufuor has collaborated with Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, to host Team Ghana. Strasbourg’s commitment to fostering global friendships through sports was highlighted, with Hon. Tufuor noting the city’s pleasure in welcoming not just athletes but also ambassadors of peace and cooperation.
Team Ghana’s Chef de Mission, Mr. Isaac Aboagye Duah, expressed gratitude for Strasbourg’s hospitality. “This visit strengthens the bond between Strasbourg and Ghana and embodies the Olympic spirit of uniting nations through sport,” he said.
The event included an exchange of gifts, symbolizing the growing friendship as the countdown to Paris 2024 continues.
