The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has prevented a dangerous disaster from happening in Ashaley Botwe, Accra by dispatching its engineers to remove a dilapidated high-tension electric pole carrying live wires on the verge of collapse.
ECG responded to a call by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan Constituency, Akosua Asaa Manu, to avoid a potential life-threatening disaster in the community.

Residents have reportedly appealed to city authorities to address the issue a number of times.
However, On August 10, 2024, during her house-to-house campaign, Manu vowed to attend to the issue after she was briefed about the situation by an elder in the community.
She contacted city authorities right away, and engineers from ECG were dispatched to replace the dilapidated high-tension electric pole carrying live wires on the verge of collapse, within a day.
