Ghana’s beloved songstress, Efya, recently opened up about her extensive music collaborations, highlighting those that have given her the most visibility in the music scene. With a remarkable number of features under her belt, she revealed her most impactful collaborations were those with Sarkodie on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM.
Over the years, Efya has demonstrated exceptional artistry, whether in her solo projects or joint ventures. Some of her most celebrated collaborations include ‘I’m in Love with You’ and ‘Saara’ with Sarkodie, ‘Hold Me Down’ with Akwaboah, and ‘One of Your Own,’ a self-feature with Bisa K Dei.
“I have worked with almost 120 artistes. So the hardest collaboration will be anything that I did with Sarkodie,” she told the host Kwame Dadzie.
Echoing a statement she made on Twitter two years ago, Efya emphasized the importance of staying current in the music industry. She urged artists who have unreleased works featuring her from the past three years to either retake or refrain from releasing them. According to Efya, the ever-evolving music scene requires songs to reflect the present, not the past, to meet the current taste of music lovers.
