Ransford Osei, a former Ghanaian footballer, recently revealed a shocking incident involving bribery within the national team selection process. Osei disclosed that after receiving his debut call-up in 2010, fellow player Frederick Acheampong, commonly known as “Achee,” persuaded him to pay a bribe to secure his place in the prestigious Black Stars squad.

Agreeing to Achee’s suggestion, Osei provided him with money intended for top officials at the Football Association (FA). However, to Osei’s dismay, Achee failed to deliver the bribe to the FA officials, resulting in Osei’s exclusion from the 2010 World Cup squad.
Osei recounted how, upon confronting Achee after the tournament, they discovered their slots had allegedly been given to others who had reportedly paid more, leaving Osei sidelined from the coveted World Cup opportunity.
This revelation by Osei sheds light on the concerning issue of potential corruption within football team selections and raises questions about the integrity of the process.
