Four suspects arrested after violent attack during Homowo festival in Oyarifa

The Ghana Police Service has arrested four suspects for attacking some people during the Homowo festival celebrations in Oyarifa.

In a statement posted on social media by the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, September 10, it was reported that four suspects — Latif Bako, Ebenezer Ewuzie, Stephen Owusu, and Ebenezer Adjei—were involved in a violent attack during the Homowo festival at Oyarifa on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

The suspects allegedly inflicted machete wounds on the victims, with Adjei also sustaining injuries. Both the victims and Adjei are currently receiving medical care.

The police have taken Bako, Ewuzie, and Owusu into custody as they assist with ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile, security forces are actively working to locate other accomplices who managed to escape from the scene. The Ghana Police Service emphasized that anyone involved in disturbing the peace will face arrest and legal prosecution.
