The Krowor Municipality in the Greater Accra Region has initiated a program to offer free extra tuition in Nungua to all third-form students enrolled in public junior high schools.
The initiative sponsored by the Krowor Constituency Member of Parliament, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, aims to get pupils ready for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Over the course of the following four weeks, the approximately 1,400 benefit kids would receive tuition in the four examinable core subjects—Social Studies, Mathematics, English, and Science.
Dr. Lartey stated at the initiative’s Wednesday launch in Nungua, Accra, that she remains steadfast in her commitment to advancing high-quality education in her district.
As the area’s MP, she pledged to use her resources to the fullest to support the kids, particularly as they get ready for their final exam the next year. She emphasised that high-quality education remained the most reliable means of closing the development gap.
“I commit to ensuring that all of us as stakeholders do our utmost best to give our future leaders the quality education, they so much desire,” she said.

Dr Lartey explained that plans were afoot to include children in private basic schools in the area, however, that would be the second phase of the initiative.
