Ghana Taekwondo Federation President Calls for Hard Work Ahead of 2026 Youth Olympics

Mr. Frederick Lartey Otu, President of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation, congratulated young athletes who excelled at the 14th Korean Ambassador’s Championship, held at the Trust Sports Emporium in Accra. The event, organized by the Ghana Taekwondo Federation and sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, showcased the talents of athletes aged 13 to 17 in Kyorugi and Poomsae.

Mr. Lartey Otu emphasized the importance of preparing these young athletes for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. He highlighted Taekwondo’s role in promoting physical fitness and building relationships across all regions of Ghana.

The competition saw Greater Accra dominate with 185 points, followed by Volta Region with 72 points and Ashanti with 68 points. Notable winners included James Sedoh and Zitta Tornyevah as best male and female juniors, respectively.

HE Park Kyongsig, the Korean Ambassador, praised the growing popularity of Taekwondo in Ghana and pledged support for Ghana’s Youth Olympic preparations. He looked forward to the 15th edition of the Korean Ambassador’s Championship.
