Ghanaian international defender Gideon Mensah has officially extended his contract with French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre, committing to the club until 2026.

Mensah, who joined Auxerre in August 2022 from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg, quickly established himself as a crucial part of the team. He made 26 appearances last season, impressing with his defensive skills and offensive contributions. After recovering from an injury sustained this summer, the 26-year-old left-back made his return to the squad in a recent match against Brest.
His contract extension is a clear indication of his commitment to the club’s future. Auxerre’s Executive President and General Director, Baptiste Malherbe, expressed his satisfaction with the deal, stating, “We are very happy with these two contract extensions. Lassine [Sinayoko] and Gideon are both excellent players and very likable individuals. They have contributed greatly to the club’s success and are fully integrated into AJA’s project.”
Mensah’s extension solidifies his place in Auxerre’s long-term plans as they aim for continued success in Ligue 1.
