The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) had to battle a fire outbreak which engulfed a warehouse in Labone for about six hours before it could finally extinguish it.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, around 5:42pm, a fire broke out at the Capp Global Limited Warehouse in Labone, which is located next to Republic Bank.

Four fire appliances from Trade Fair, Jubilee House, Ministries, and Headquarters were sent to the scene by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a flash.
Firefighters came by 5:54pm, put in endless hours to contain the fire by 7:05pm hours, and extinguished it by 8:08pm.
The intense fire was completely put out at exactly 12:23am.
The first floor of the impacted warehouse was completely destroyed by the fire, along with furniture, phone accessories, and electrical devices, but the brave firefighters were able to save the ground floor, its belongings, and the nearby buildings.
GNFS in a statement said no injuries or fatalities were recorded and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

There’s been frequent fire outbreaks in the capital in the last couple of months with one outbreak at Rawlings Park, Accra almost taking a week to be controlled by the fire service.
