The running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has resolved a long-term conflict between two market women at the Dome Market in Accra.
There was reportedly a dispute and division in the Dome Market Traders Association leading to the creation of two different groups and leaders within the association.

One group was led by Madam Felicia Karley Amui and the other led by Madam Evelyn Abena Sebie, with both parading themselves at the legitimate market queen.
The two market queens presented themselves as the legitimate leaders at a durbar of traders to welcome Professor Opoku-Agyemang to the market in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency as part of her tour of markets in the Greater Accra Region.
They made accusations and counter-accusations, which which caused tension in the market.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang stepped in and urged them to put their differences behind them in order to avoid impeding the growth of the market.
She stood between as the two hugged each other for the first time in a long time to symbolize the end of the dispute and the crowd cheered.
She then told the traders that “we should not be fighting in these difficult times, let’s rather unite against hardship and underdevelopment.”
