The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) has revealed in a statement last Friday that one international airline has had to cancel some of its scheduled flights.

This is due to the ongoing global Microsoft outage caused by a technical problem that cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike said it had identified in its software and was working to resolve.

The global situation has disrupted operations across various industries like banks, hospitals, broadcasters and airlines worldwide.

According to the statement, all other international airlines are operating at the Kotoko International Airport in Accra.

However, the statement added that: “due to the global nature of the glitch, some flight delays and interruptions may be experienced from countries affected by the glitch, which may have a slight impact on Accra.”

The GACL assured that it will closely monitor the situation but in the meantime “all other operations are uinterrupted and on schedule as usual,” it concluded.

The statement did not reveal the name of the affected airline.
