Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara didn’t hold back in his critique of midfielder Salim Adams, following the team’s goalless draw against Aduana FC at the University of Ghana Stadium. Despite playing with a numerical advantage for over 30 minutes after Aduana’s Rich Mensah was sent off in the 57th minute, Hearts couldn’t capitalize, leaving fans frustrated.

Adams, who replaced striker Asamoah Boateng in the 68th minute, found himself under scrutiny after a lackluster performance. He struggled to make an impact, misplacing several passes and missing a critical chance to score late in the game. The pressure appeared to get to him, as Ouattara highlighted in his post-match comments.
“He has played in this role (striker) many times, but today, the pressure he put on himself was too much. I expected his substitution to exploit Aduana’s tired defense, but instead, he looked more fatigued than the player he replaced,” Ouattara lamented.
Hearts of Oak missed multiple scoring opportunities throughout the match, and with only one win in their last five games, the pressure continues to mount on coach Ouattara. The Phobians are struggling for form and desperately need a turnaround in their upcoming fixtures.
Is Adams’ inability to perform under pressure a sign of deeper problems in the team, or was this just an off day for the young midfielder? Hearts’ fans are left questioning if the team can find consistency as they fight to get their season back on track.
