A law firm clerk, Raymond Opoku Agyemang, 43, and a businessman are accused of defrauding a farmer of GHC150,000.00, promising him a tractor and a plough. Agyemang, charged with abetment of crime, has pleaded not guilty and has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court. His accomplice, Ikena Okoro Sylvester, remains at large.
The complainant, Mr Usman Huudu, a teacher and farmer from Jujeidayiri in the Upper West Region of Ghana, was allegedly defrauded by Agyemang and Okoro, residents of Haatso. The prosecution says Agyemang’s company, Rayfranc Ghana Company Limited, was advertised online by Okoro, offering farm machines and implements for sale.

Mr Huudu, after seeing the online advertisement, contacted Okoro, who introduced himself as the sales manager of Agyemang’s company. He assured Mr Huudu that his company could supply any equipment he needed. The case has been adjourned to December 11, 2023.
