Medeama SC clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko in the inaugural match at the newly built TnA Stadium in Tarkwa on Friday evening. The match, attended by Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Asante Kotoko started brightly, with Albert Amoah nearly scoring in the third minute, but Michael Enu’s timely intervention denied the visitors. Medeama thought they had taken the lead in the 16th minute when Diawisie Taylor’s rebound found the net, but the goal was ruled offside. Just four minutes later, Nana Kofi Babil headed in to give Medeama the lead.
Medeama had a chance to extend their lead with a penalty in the 31st minute, but Taylor’s shot was saved. Kotoko equalized in the 64th minute through substitute Bernard Somuah.
The game seemed destined for a draw until Prosper Boakye, a late substitute, tapped in a free-kick delivery in the 89th minute to secure the win for Medeama. The victory capped a memorable night for the home crowd, marking a successful inauguration of the TnA Stadium.
