National Farmers day celebration leads to temporary road shutdowns

“Agrifest Ghana 2023”, a 5-day agricultural fair, is scheduled to take place from Monday, November 27th to Friday, December 1st, 2023. This event will affect several routes including the Ridge Roundabout, which leads through the Principal Streets of Parliament House, Independence Square, the John Evans Alta Mills Court Complex, and the Principal Streets of the National Theatre.

The Ministry, in an official statement, has recommended those who usually utilize these impacted routes to seek alternate parking sites and routes during the event. This recommendation is made with the intention of ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and enhancing the overall security and coordination of the National Farmers’ Day celebrations.

The instruction is expected to help streamline traffic flow and ensure that the National Farmers’ Day celebrations proceed without any major hitches. The cooperation of all road users is appreciated during this period.

Staff and clients of affected government institutions are kindly requested to park at either Independence Square or Afua Sutherland Park. The Ghana Police Service will be deployed to provide adequate security, ensuring the safety of vehicles parked in these designated areas.” part of the communique stated
