Dr. Daniel Danquah, Deputy Registrar of the Council, has affirmed their commitment to enforcing regulations. They’re taking a stand against non-compliant pharmacies and have recently intensified efforts to shut down unlicensed ones. This action was prompted by an unfortunate incident in July, where a 5-year-old child lost his life due to the alleged administration of wrong medication at Life Dream Pharmacy, located in Kenyasi-Adwumam, Kwabre East Municipality, Ashanti Region.

Additionally, the Council is making strides to elevate the standards of pharmacy services in Ghana. They’ve initiated a new pharmacy training program and are working diligently to strengthen the regulatory framework governing pharmacies.

In his statement, Danquah reiterated the Council’s dedication to collaborating with pharmacies. The goal is to ensure they operate within the confines of the law, thereby safeguarding public health.
