Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, born December 23, 2001, is a prominent Ghanaian high jumper who has made a significant mark in athletics. Known for her remarkable prowess in high jump, Yeboah has become a beacon of excellence for Ghana in track and field.

Career Highlights

Yeboah gained international recognition early in her career, starting with a standout performance at the 2019 XIV African U20 Championships in Abidjan, where she clinched the gold medal with a jump of 1.83 meters. Her talent was further showcased at the 2019 African Games in Rabat, where she continued to impress by securing another gold medal with a jump of 1.84 meters.

Her remarkable achievements include winning gold medals at the Ecowas U-20 Championships and the All-Africa University Games in Egypt. In January 2020, she achieved a new height of 1.85 meters at the GUSA Games in Legon, demonstrating her continuous improvement and dedication.

In 2024, Yeboah made history by becoming the first Ghanaian woman to qualify for the high jump event at the Paris Olympics. She achieved this milestone with a record-breaking jump of 1.97 meters, a performance that also secured Ghana’s first gold medal at the African Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Yeboah’s versatility extends to other sports. She has shown talent in hockey and basketball, and her high school team, Kumasi Girls Senior High School, won gold at the Spriteball Championship, where she was named MVP.

Yeboah pursued her secondary education at Kumasi Girls Senior High School and is currently a student at the University of Cape Coast, where she continues to balance her academic and athletic commitments.
