Two individuals, Ike Oppong, a shop attendant, and Charles Lamptey, a contractor, have been accused of robbing a driver of his mobile phones, phone accessories, and a sum of money. The incident allegedly involved the use of a knife and scissors to intimidate the driver, leading to the successful theft of the mentioned items. The accused, charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and robbery, pleaded not guilty. Their accomplice, Nana Yaw, remains at large.

The Accra Circuit Court, under the jurisdiction of Mrs Susana Eduful, granted bail to the accused Oppong and Lamptey. Each was given a bail of GH¢50,000.00, with two sureties each to be justified. One of the sureties for each accused person is required to have a monthly income of no less than GH¢2,500.00. The case has been adjourned until January 31, 2024.
The complainant, Mr Oketeku Samuel, a driver residing in Dzorwulu, was reportedly robbed by Oppong and Nana Yaw at the Dzorwulu junction on December 17, 2023. The accused allegedly stopped Mr Samuel under the pretense of needing a ride to the Tema Community 18 junction. Upon reaching their destination, they threatened the driver and successfully robbed him of his possessions, including two mobile phones, a power bank, an earpiece, and GH¢400 in cash.
