The Kasoa Division of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) has arrested three individuals for conspiring to steal a baby in Kasoa. According to a report by UTV, 22-year-old Abigail Addison, who runs a pure water business at Kasoa New Market, was approached by the first suspect, Magdalene Nana Adwoa Boato. Under the guise of helping Abigail and her unborn child, Magdalene befriended her and paid for a two-day hotel stay before introducing her to a second suspect, Eunice. The two suspects then rented an apartment for Abigail in Lamptey Mills, a suburb of Kasoa. When Abigail went into labor, her landlord took her to the Kagoa Polyclinic.

After delivering her baby, Abigail, unaware of the suspects’ true intentions, informed Magdalene and Eunice of the birth. The suspects then told Abigail that her baby was ill and needed to be taken to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital by their friend, a nurse named Faustina. After two days without knowing the whereabouts of her baby, Abigail’s landlord was informed by the suspects that the child had passed away during treatment. The incident was reported to the police, who launched an investigation. The three women were subsequently arrested at their respective hideouts, and the baby was found and rescued alive.
