Sarkodie Heads to Supreme Court in Battle Against FDA

Today, the Supreme Court saw the presence of renowned Hiplife artist, Sarkodie, real name Michael Owusu Addo. He’s part of a case challenging an FDA guideline. This rule prohibits celebrities and other notable figures from participating in alcoholic product advertisements.

“Article 17(1) of the Constitution says that everyone has the same rights under the law. Article 17(2) explains that no one should be treated unfairly because of their gender, race, skin color, ethnic background, religion, beliefs, or social or economic status.“

This case was initiated by Mark Darlington Osae, who manages other Hiplife artists like Reggie ‘N’ Bollie, and Skrewfaze. The claimant argues that the FDA’s guideline is unconstitutional. They believe it infringes on the right against discrimination, as outlined in Article 17 of the 1992 Constitution.
